King's Lynn has a vibrant local arts and entertainment scene with something for everybody, including opera, classical music, comedy shows and rock and pop concerts as well as art exhibitions and the latest Hollywood blockbusters.
In the town centre, King's Lynn Corn Exchange hosts theatrical, comedy, musical and children's performances throughout the year. This multipurpose venue, with its Grade II-listed facade, is an attractive and comfortable entertainment venue.
2006 sees the town celebrating 56 years of the King's Lynn Festival which features a well-established blend of classical, choral and recital to suit a variety of tastes. Highlights include a performance by legendary pianist Alfred Brendel, a performance by opera singer Lesley Garrett and a lecture on Winston Churchill from renowned historian Richard Holmes.
The annual Festival Too takes place in the town's market square and offers free live music from big-name bands combined with a funfair.
The town's Majestic Cinema (01553 772603) has recently undergone renovation to provide a first class movie-going experience. The King's Lynn Arts Centre, which is housed in one of the largest and oldest medieval buildings of its kind in England, also shows films as well as staging live performances. It also doubles as a venue for Festival Too during the summer months.
For those people who like dancing the night away, King's Lynn has two nightclubs - Zoots and Diva - both open until the early hours.
